02 December 2014Standing Water at Dukes Lane Corner

Dear Residents,

During 2013 the Parish Council had a meeting with NCC Highways dept. regarding the amount of standing water which accumulates in the road, from Dukes Lane corner up The Street, towards the Village Hall.

I have recently asked for an update. The PC originally requested that some action was taken as soon as possible. As a result the Highways dept said that this was not likely to start until 2015 if their budget would allow and if it could be added to their work sheet.

Last week I asked if this was still their plan. This is the reply: -

“Following our meeting I added the issues at this corner to an existing drainage brief (for drainage investigation/improvements along The Street), and I requested if funding could be brought forward for this scheme.

I have checked with our funding team and unfortunately it is still showing its funding allocation in 2016 as other locations around the county have taken precedence for 2015. I will again highlight this location’s issues to our funding team to see if there is scope (funds) to bring forward should any of the 2015 schemes not materialise”.

This was reported at the PC meeting on 01.12.14.
